Description:

Warehouse AssociateThe Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse and production operations for a collaborative, tenured team responsible for receiving, repackaging, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role works closely with a group of approximately seven colleagues, including warehouse floor associates and administrative staff, to ensure products are accurately received, processed, and shipped in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesReceive inbound products and unload shipping containers safely and efficiently.Pick customer orders and accurately prepare shipments according to established procedures.Pack and palletize products for shipping, ensuring secure and damage-free transport.Assist with all shipping and receiving activities, including documentation and staging of orders.Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts as needed (approximately 10% of the role).Support product rework operations by opening cartons, replacing components, updating labels, applying barcodes, and preparing finished goods for shipment.Assist with inventory activities, including annual inventory counts and general inventory support.Use RF scanners and related equipment to complete picking, packing, and shipping tasks.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.Handle products that may arrive stacked at container height and require manual, physical handling.Collaborate with team members to support multiple operational functions as business needs require.Essential SkillsPrevious warehouse experience in a fast-paced environment.Ability to lift, move, and handle product throughout the entire shift, including unloading containers.Experience with order picking and packing for customer shipments.Forklift experience, including sit-down and/or stand-up equipment.Comfort working with shipping and receiving processes and warehouse operations.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.Willingness to learn and support multiple warehouse and production functions.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with RF scanners for order picking, packing, and inventory support.Experience in rework or production support, including repackaging and relabeling products.Familiarity with palletizing, shipping documentation, and general warehouse logistics.Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.Why Work Here?Join a long-established U.S.-based manufacturer that has been in business since 1950 and is recognized as a leading supplier of professional-grade tools and equipment for the HVAC, roofing, siding, and building construction industries. The position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment where products are manually handled and containers are unloaded regularly. The work involves physical activity throughout the shift, collaboration with a small team on the warehouse floor and in administrative support, and the use of forklifts, RF scanners, and standard warehouse equipment.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
