The JDC is a secure facility which houses juveniles who are ordered to be detained pursuant to the Code of Virginia. The Cook orders and prepares meals for facility. Organizes kitchen and maintains cleanliness.Department Hiring Range: $19.60 - $22.49Essential functions include but are not limited to:* Prepares meals by ordering food for meals, retrieving all needed ingredients, and following standard recipes.* Sanitizes kitchen supplies by washing the dishes, pots and pans, and various kitchen equipment.Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, simple processes and routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.One year experience in quality/quantity cooking.* Valid Driver's License not required.* Health Card, Food Services Manager Certification within six months of employment.
