Merrick is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for several upcoming shipbuilding facility projects. This senior engineer will be the Onsite Support Engineer and will function as part of a team that plans, designs and oversees the construction of new and/or expanded shipbuilding facilities. This position will be initially located at our client site in Newport News, Virginia, not at a Merrick office. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Act as the owner's engineer, supporting NNS facilities maintenance and assisting the utility engineering team. Evaluate maintenance notifications by reviewing documentation and implementing corrective actions as needed. Prepare engineering documentation, including Technical Work Instructions (TWI). Conduct studies and analysis for emergent tasks as they arise. Assist with maintenance tasks to support testing, troubleshooting, and resolving system problems, as well as making configuration changes.
