Job Title: Pump Shop Manager
Overview:
As a Pump Shop Manager, you will collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors, Mechanics, and Machinists to ensure the completion of high-quality repairs on various types of pumps, including horizontal split case, overhung, vertical turbine, and vertical centrifugal pumps. Your role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to improve established procedures while mentoring others. You will interact regularly with management teams from Quality, Engineering, Transportation, Purchasing, Field Service, and Executive Management. We seek a well-rounded team player who takes pride in quality workmanship and understands both the technical and practical aspects of pump repair and assembly.
Responsibilities:
Participate in and conduct production meetings and pre-job briefs with pump division team leads to review job expectations and checklists.
Oversee all relevant company processes and systems.
Track operational costs and manage the Departmental Income Statement.
Responsible for Departmental Forecasting, Job Pricing, Invoicing, and Profit Margins.
Direct correspondence with customers and vendors.
Oversee and aid in the development of company initiatives and procedural revisions.
Determine training needs for key employees and departments.
Set regular performance goals and monitor performance against set targets.
Maintain strong accountability of all direct reports and shop supervisors.
Coordinate customer visits and tours.
Serve as a point of escalation for coordinating shared resource needs with other shop departments.
Maintain equipment and facilities, coordinating repairs with the Facilities Manager.
Review applications and resumes to aid in recruiting and hiring employees.
Investigate rework or delay items daily and coordinate corrective actions with the Quality Department.
Ensure safety, rework, equipment needs, updates, warranties, and late deliveries are addressed.
Complete and maintain all records, reports, photos, and documentation accurately.
Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules and customer demands.
Essential Skills:
10+ years of hands-on experience with pump repair and supervision.
Proficiency in standard computer programs and software such as MS Office.
Excellent knowledge of various pump types and repair techniques.
Strong understanding of LEAN Manufacturing techniques and 5S Principles.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals/drawings, and repair specifications.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership ability and willingness to mentor and train junior employees.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Industrial production experience with pump assembly and blueprint management skills.
Industrial pump maintenance expertise.
Experience in production planning and management.
Fabrication skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
