In this role, you will:

  • Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
  • Conduct inspections of individuals and goods.
  • Determine admissibility for entry into the United States.
  • Prevent illegal entry and smuggling of contraband.

As part of our operations, you will also have the opportunity to work in mission-critical locations. Although specific vacancies may vary, you will be considered for various geographic locations across the U.S.

Salary and Benefits:

Newly appointed CBPOs will receive up to a $15,000 annual incentive in select locations for three to four-year service contracts. Base Salary: Starting from $40,332 to $109,952 annually, with the potential for significant overtime pay.

This is a career ladder position, allowing for grade progression with promotions based on successful performance!

Qualifications:

To qualify for the GS-5 level, candidates must possess:

  • Three years of relevant work experience OR
  • A bachelor's degree OR
  • A combination of work experience and education.

For the GS-7 level, applicants need:

  • One year of specialized work experience OR
  • A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement OR
  • A combination of specialized work experience and graduate education.

Additional requirements include:

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • A minimum of three years of primary residency in the U.S.
  • Age restrictions may apply, but some exceptions exist for veterans.

Formal training is mandatory, including a paid orientation and a comprehensive training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
