Summary of Position:
The Sourcing Analyst is a key member of Dollar Tree's Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team charged with driving compelling results and value to Dollar Tree through strategic procurement activities. The Sourcing Analyst plays a crucial role in identifying and prioritizing cost savings initiatives as well as executing strategic sourcing projects and deploying category strategies. In executing these responsibilities, the Sourcing Analyst shall help Dollar Tree meet organizational goals related to growth, cost savings, and risk management. This role works directly with our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement leadership team, business stakeholders across Dollar Tree, and our external supplier base. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the prioritization of strategic sourcing opportunities and management of the strategic sourcing project pipeline
Conduct spend analytics and synthesize disparate data sources into insights and clear recommendations
Develop category expertise to fully understand supply market, industry trends, potential sourcing strategies, and typical savings levers for assigned categories of spend
Work with business stakeholders to identify and interpret key project requirements
Create and present robust sourcing strategies and recommendations
Execute competitive sourcing events and supplier negotiations in partnership with Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team members as well as cross-functional teams including finance and legal
Create analytical models to evaluate supplier proposals and inform recommendations for the business
Utilize analytical and project management tools to track procurement project performance (e.g. savings, duration, supplier selection, etc.), generate reports, and provide actionable insights to senior management
Foster strong relationships with our business partners across Dollar Tree
Minimum Requirements/Qualificiations:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
2 - 5 years of experience in procurement, operations, supply chain, finance, or consulting
Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks, and initiatives simultaneously
Demonstrated project management, leadership, and analytical skills
Effective communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present comfortably to senior executives
Strong work ethic and a high level of integrity
Comfortable in a performance-driven environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint) products, including the ability to develop and interpret complex analytical models and ad-hoc reports
