As a Structural Engineer III, you will provide critical technical oversight on pier structures, supporting safety, durability, and operational excellence. Your expertise will directly impact design, troubleshooting, and maintenance strategies for complex structural systems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of metals, non-metallic, or composite materials, with experience in structural modeling and damage tolerance analysis. Leveraging tools like CATIA, ProEngineer, and other software, you'll troubleshoot technical issues, develop documentation, and contribute to system improvement initiatives. Building collaborative relationships with system operators and maintenance personnel is essential to ensure peak system performance.
Required Skills include 5+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in science, knowledge of structural design-including steel, wood, and concrete-and familiarity with pier or naval architecture projects. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelors in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, EIT certification, and experience in shipyard or nuclear facilities.
Other requirements involve working inside the yard, yardwide access, PPE usage, and no remote work. This role involves light vehicle use within the shipyard and requires PPE such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
