Position Summary
The Tool Room Clerk plays a critical role in supporting daily operations by managing tooling inventory, issuing equipment, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced machine shop environment. This position ensures that machinists and technicians have timely access to calibrated tools and consumables, contributing to efficient production workflows and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
good basic math skills (addition & subtraction)
o be on time to work every day
o have mechanical skills OR Aptitude
o willing and able to fill out basic production paperwork by hand - part number, quantity
o be able to lift 50-75 lbs
o stand, walk, sit, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movements
o be able to work in cold or hot temperatures in plant, smoking is allowed in most production areas.
o be interested in learning a new skill
o be willing to work where personal cell phone use is not permitted
o experience in light gauge sheet metal fabricating or machine shop
o be able to read a tape measure and/or precision measuring tools
o Metal finishing (Grind)
o Powder coating prep & line load/unload
o Powder coating application
o Assembly
o Shipping (packaging, not driving)
o CNC Laser operation
o CNC Press Brake operation
o CNC Punch Press operation

- REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER STARTING WAGE:
o experience in light gauge sheet metal fabricating or machine shop
o be able to read a tape measure and/or precision measuring tools
- They'd be working in one or more of these areas. We will probably train a worker in several areas to see where they catch on. We may not know in advance where they would be training, so they'd need to be ok with the opportunity to work in any of these areas - with some exceptions such as someone with asthma that does not want to work in grind, or someone who cannot pass a respirator physical for powder coating application.
