Newport News, Virginia. Full Time Opportunity This position will provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. The first line of action will be to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in any at risk behaviors. Next will be to summon the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. Monitor staff will be knowledgeable and abide by patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies. The patient safety monitor tech needs to be able to multi-task, effectively prioritize and have a sense of urgency when observing high risk behaviors. What you will do. Remotely monitor patients, observe patients to ensure no harm to self or others. Escalates concerns as appropriate. Prevents patent from attempting self-harm, falling, injuring self, and removing tubes or lines. Coaches patient or uses comforting touch of reassurance to help patient ambulate safely.
