We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter with extensive experience in both commercial and naval settings to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in ship fabrication, fitting, and welding techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ship fabrication and fitting tasks using blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Conduct tack welding and burning using Oxygen/Propane torches.
  • Utilize arc gouging and grinding techniques for shipbuilding processes.
  • Ensure precision in ship building and fitting tasks, maintaining high standards of quality.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of four years of experience
  • Proficiency in single pass tack welding.
  • Skilled in the use of Oxygen/Propane Burning and Heating Torches.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in ship building and fabrication processes.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
