Pipelayer/Laborer

Vortex Services is seeking to fill a position for a Pipelayer/Laborer.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Grading and leveling trench bases to place pipe in
• Laying, aligning, and positioning sections of pipe
• Making connections to lines including sewer lines, water lines, and storm sewers
• Checking slopes for confirmation to requirements
• Digging and setting pipe by hand

Skills required:

• Determine grade of trenching using tools including lasers and transit levels
• Operate cutting equipment to cut various types of piping materials
• Operate small powered equipment including tampers
• Cut, fit, and seal various types of piping

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Pipe Layer
• Valid driver license required
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift and move 50 lbs.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background screening consistent with company standards

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
