Assistant Professor of Kinesiology (Biology) Full Time, Tenure-Track. Appointment effective August 2026. A Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Biology, or a closely related field is required for appointment. The department seeks candidates with experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to their success. ABD candidates may be considered for appointment at Instructor rank in some cases; exceptionally well-qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at a higher rank.
The Department of Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science comprises 34 faculty and is housed in a modern integrated science building. The university will open the Science and Engineering Research Center (SERC) in Spring 2026 with dedicated space for Kinesiology and equipment such as treadmills, ergometers, a metabolic cart, a Biodex system, ultrasound for muscle imaging, transcranial magnetic stimulation with EMG, and a force plate. The department oversees approximately 770 students pursuing B.S. and B.A. degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and related programs, and collaborates with the Psychology department on the Neuroscience program.
