The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking a Lead Defense Analyst with a passion for enhancing military capabilities at the Joint DoD Complex, Suffolk VA. This is your chance to leverage your expertise to support the Joint Staff J6 Joint Assessment Division (JAD) in conducting comprehensive capability assessments and system interoperability evaluations, along with assessments focused on Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) datacentricity. You will take charge of JAD assessment projects within the JAD Technical Assessment Branch.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead research and studies, and oversee the design and reporting of operational tests and assessments to implement improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize advanced scientific methods to analyze complex problems and provide insights into viable solutions.
  • Plan and ensure the successful execution of assessments, creating comprehensive project and analysis plans.
  • Direct team analysis to address objectives and document findings in reports, briefings, and scholarly papers.
  • Engage with Joint Staff entities and clearly communicate data insights, arriving at actionable conclusions while collaborating with GS customer representatives.
  • Exhibit strong writing skills suitable for professional settings, alongside proficiency in word processing and presentation tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS Clearance.
  • Experience with C5ISR systems and their role in Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) interoperability to enhance global force integration.
  • Assess the operational effectiveness of C5ISR systems under diverse scenarios.
  • Evaluate the influence of emerging technologies on C5ISR capabilities.
  • Formulate strategies to optimize and enhance C5ISR system performance and efficiency.
  • Employ analytical methodologies to measure C5ISR system performance and identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and execute solutions that meet C5ISR system requirements.
  • Effectively convey technical findings and recommendations tied to C5ISR systems analysis.
  • Create high-level products and demonstrate proficiency with standard Microsoft Office Suite tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in joint duty roles.
  • Background as a data analyst.
  • Familiarity with Combatant Command operations.
  • Experience on Joint Staff.
  • Involvement in Operational-Strategic Level Planning efforts.
  • Graduate from an advanced military school.
  • Proven experience in operational and C5ISR assessments.
