The Outreach Specialist is responsible for developing a strategic plan to educate all professionals that work with expectant mothers, unmarried parents, and families about the importance of paternity establishment. The position provides education, training assistance, and outreach to hospitals, prenatal entities, social service providers, and other interested groups on the subject of voluntary paternity. Voluntary paternity is a critical subject for unmarried parents and is a required step to create a legal connection between a child and their father if the parents were unmarried at the time of birth. The position entails promoting, maintaining relationships with professionals that interact with parents and improving paternity establishment performance at birthing hospitals throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
