Job Description

Responsible for sorting incoming mail for approximately 175 offices. Sorts and bundles all mail that is destined for departments on mail route. Delivers and picks up mail at various departments. Picks up and delivers mail to and from the U.S. Postal Service.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Demonstrated ability to operate a 3/4 ton cargo van to deliver and pick up mail at the U.S. Post Offfice and approximatley 40 departments on and off campus. Demonstrated abiltiy to sort incoming mail for approximatley 175 offices. Demonstrated ability to acquire signatures for all accountable mail on route. Prepare off campus mail for postage. Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Postal Service regulations and rates. Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lift, pull and load 40 - 70 lbs several times a day.

Special licenses, registration or certification

Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Some experience in a customer service oriented environment.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Several years experience in a Post Office or institutional Mail Center. Some customer service training.

Conditions of Employment

Given the nature of the positions in Student & Camput Life that provide support to student services and/or student-centered programs, the employee occupying this position may be required to work during a university closing as directed by his or her supervisor. These instances may include working from a remote location (i.e. telework, etc.).

Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary range between $ - 28,360-33,000
