A Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities on single or multi-discipline projects involving architecture, engineering, planning, interior design or other areas of the firm's practice.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leading, motivating, and effectively communicating with a project team during scope and project execution
Working with the Managing Principal and Design Manager to develop and present projects to clients, contractors, project team members, authorities having jurisdiction, and members of the public through all stages of the project
Coordinating with clients to ensure successful completion of projects that may involve either new construction or renovation
Facilitating a professional and successful relationship between client, contractors, and the project team
Running project meetings and participating in management meetings
Actively support Managing Principals and Marketing in the Company's marketing and business development activities
Preparing contracts and fee proposals for Managing Principal's review and participating in contract negotiations
Ensuring staff compliance with quality control policies and procedures
Developing and managing project planning, budgeting, and critical project objectives
Verify project consultants are properly licensed and insured
Assemble staff for project teams with input and concurrence from Managing Principals, Department Directors, and Department Heads
Working with, responding to, and taking direction from Managing Principals and Senior Project Managers
Ability to travel is required
Perform Managing Principal duties as assigned
Monitor scope/schedule creep for potential additional services
Provide weekly progress reports to the Client
Maintain project documentation in electronic files and Newforma
Assemble and maintain design discipline sheet mock-ups and work plans
Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules with input from each discipline and consultants
Facilitate project team meetings to review project scope, project progress, and schedule issues as well as team coordination, coordination with consultants, and problem solving
Review RFI and shop drawing submittal responses for appropriateness and completeness
Prepare draft monthly invoices, 12 month invoice projections and monitor accounts receivable
Review and approve project related expenses and consultant invoices
Assemble and review design “milestone” submittal deliverables and ensure completeness and quality of the submittal
Perform project closeout and archiving tasks
Schedule QC/QA and “gray team” reviews
Schedule and/or conduct periodic site visits during construction
A project manager assigned to our industrial department will be given additional consideration for specialized experience and knowledge of conceptual studies, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balance calculations, equipment selections, instrument selection and general arrangements.

Required ExperienceEducation, Technology, and Experience
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, interior design or planning is preferred
Licensure as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is preferred
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable
Understanding of sustainable design principles and design practices with LEED AP accreditation is preferred
Additional certifications such as CEM, CFPM, CDT, CCS, or CCCA are encouraged to reflect personal growth in the profession and an ever increasing knowledge base to enhance the design and documentation process
Be able to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, accounting, and information management
Working familiarity with design and production software to a point of being able to understand the capabilities and limitations of the programs and interact with the support staff in their use of the software is highly desirable.
Preferably be a licensed professional or have 12 years or more of significant design and practice experience in a leadership role in the areas of the firm's practice
Previous experience with DoD projects may be given additional consideration
Specific experience with design, construction or maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, and other related project management processes is required for project managers assigned to our infrastructure market sector
