We are currently seeking a DC Specialist.

Job Description:
  • Testing and troubleshooting of DC motors
  • Work with production personnel on repairs of DC motors
  • Share knowledge of DC motor theory with production personnel
  • Assist production in other areas as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of DC Motor (armature and field frame) experience.
  • Ability to read prints, draw, and troubleshoot DC motor circuits, including:
    • compensation windings
    • shunt field poles
    • Interpole circuits
    • Series pole circuits
    • Equalizing and jumper windings
    • Communication and neutral setting
  • Experience in performing DC electrical testing including:
    • Insulation resistance/polarization index
    • Winding coil resistance and bar-to-bar testing
    • AC/DC hi-pot testing
    • AC/DC drop testing
    • Polarity and induction testing
  • Experience in inspecting/testing DC motor auxiliaries including:
    • Thermocouple and RTD testing
    • Heater testing
    • Overload testing
    • Brush rigging/springs
    • Grounding brushes
    • Commutator inspections prior to disassembly
  • Qualifications/experience in performing no-load and full load test runs of DC motors and associate troubleshooting.
    • Operation of test panel controlling armature and field input supplies
    • Seating new brushes and setting neutral
    • Evaluating abnormal indications including excessive brush sparking, speed/supply/direction of rotation variations from nameplate, etc.
  • Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time.
  • We are a service industry on call to our customers 24/7/265. To meet our customers' needs, employees must be able to work overtime as needed, including extending hours outside of the assigned shift. This also includes weekends/holidays.
  • Must be a good communicator, have a positive attitude, able to follow written and verbal instructions.
NOTE: This position requires drug and background screening.
