Shelter Mechanic (Container Technician) III

Description:

Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is a total solutions provider for government and commercial customers in the areas of Program Management, Logistics, Organizational Change Management, Communications, Training, and Information Technology (IT) Support Services. We are currently seeking a Shelter Mechanic (Container Technician III) to join our team of professionals in support of the NMRLC Warehouse Support Services Program.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Perform maintenance, inspection, repair, alterations, and certification of all NMRLC ISO Containers and Shelters, including tasks in addition to other PWS requirements.
  • Manage containers centrally tracked by DoD using USN IDs, processing Government-provided changes or conversions of IDs through COR approval.
  • Maintain container and shelter inspection, maintenance, and certification processes in accordance with MIL-STD-3037, DoDINST 4500.9R, and applicable DoD/DON instructions, documenting on DA2404 Container Inspection Form and uploading to JCMS.
  • Protect ISO containers from unnecessary damage/deterioration, ensure interiors are protected from elements, prevent undercarriage damage through proper placement/storage, use proper MHE for movement, close and secure all doors/ramps before movement, and update DMLSS/HIMS condition code and location upon movement.
  • Perform LTIs for all downloaded containers/shelters by task order completion date and within 15 days for new receipts; complete LTI of on-hand stock every 36 months, documenting in DMLSS or other mandated systems; include pre-certification inspection, inventory of collateral equipment, and full operational test; use MIL-STD-3037 checklists, correct deficiencies prior to ISO certification, and clean/pressure wash ready units; update DMLSS/HIMS each time maintained; jointly develop LTI checklists for outfitted shelters within 120 days of contract award.
  • Perform repairs/alterations such as spot painting, gasket/seal replacement, dent repair, rivet replacement, sealant removal/replacement, rebuilds, rehabilitations, replacement/installation of components, assemblies, subassemblies, machining, and welding in accordance with manufacturer manuals, MIL-STD-3037, and technical specifications; meet CSC Certification requirements; complete within 90 days of ERO approval; perform overhauls as directed by Government.
  • Repack items after inventory/maintenance, drain all water/fluids from operational tests, install low point drains, secure all loose material and equipment, secure doors/drawers/shelving, and clean/mop interiors of shelters and outfitted containers.
  • Ensure completed maintenance is accepted by the container manager prior to changing the condition code to RFI pending certification; follow Government direction for assigning outfitted shelters and containers to EXMEDS platforms.
  • Certify containers/shelters per MIL-STD-3037 using DA2404 Form; re-inspect, and if defect-free, apply DD Form 2282 Re-inspection Decal to CSC data plate within 30 days prior to transport; update container history jacket and DMLSS/HIMS upon certification.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations)

Experience
  • Required:
    • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the maintenance, inspection, repair, alteration, overhaul, and certification of ISO containers and 3:1 Configurable Shelters.
    • Knowledge of Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) regulatory requirements for shipment of containers.
    • Knowledge of the certification process in accordance with MIL-STD-3037.
  • Previous United States military service experience a HUGE PLUS.
Additional Requirements
  • CSC Certification.
  • Ability to obtain ISPM 15 Certification and Certification to operate a 4-30k forklift.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work a light to moderate physical effort. Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items. May require lifting and carrying weight over 45 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to read, interpret and apply reference material such as regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc. to accomplish and resolve problems; the ability to read and speak the English language, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence, reports, and transcribed material; be proficient in US standard office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems and office automation systems, to perform a substantial range of warehouse support; and the knowledge of basic ethical principles, telephone etiquette, excellent communications and customer service skills and ability.

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation (minimum T-1/NACI).
