The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines, as well as various shop equipment including drill presses, wet saws, belt sanders, and hydraulic presses. Materials commonly used include, but are not limited to, steel, aluminum, and plastics. Most work involves production quantities, so the ability to maintain a steady, efficient pace with a strong sense of urgency is essential. Responsibilities: Studies work orders, blueprints, orthographic drawings, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters, including interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to plan machining work. Programs and operates 3 Axis CNC mills using G-codes and conditional logic, setting zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, and compensation. Maintains specifications by monitoring machining operations - drilling, tapping, cutting, turning, and facing.
