Salary: $115,000 - $144,000

A global manufacturer with a long-standing presence in the Norfolk, Virginia area is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to oversee its multi-shift operations. The facility specializes in producing metal composite materials, particularly aluminum-based panels used in architectural and structural applications such as building facades and signage. The company is part of a larger international group known for its advanced materials and chemical technologies, serving industries ranging from construction and automotive to electronics and healthcare. This leadership role will focus on equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement, offering the opportunity to contribute to a high-performance manufacturing environment with strong quality standards and operational excellence.

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of technicians and professionals, aligning departmental goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Ensure equipment reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, reliability analytics, and safety protocol enforcement.
  • Manage capital projects from planning to commissioning, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee departmental operations, including work orders, inventory control, KPIs, SOPs, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Administer training programs, onboarding, and qualification processes for technical staff, while supporting continuous improvement across all shifts.

The Maintenance and Enginerring Manager should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in engineering and maintenance leadership, including project management and CMMS utilization.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell/Allen Bradley), and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven people leader with excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational abilities, capable of fostering team development and driving operational efficiency.
