Job Title: Systems Administrator 3
Location: Newport News, VA (Hybrid - In Office Tues/Thurs)

NSC Staffing is hiring a Systems Administrator 3 to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including system performance tuning, software installation, and system security support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Windows and Linux environments, experience with security tools, and Splunk administration expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain operation of multi-user computer systems, working closely with network administrators.
2. Set up administrator and service accounts and maintain system documentation.
3. Install system-wide software, allocate mass storage space, and tune system performance.
4. Evaluate and recommend hardware and software products for system improvements.
5. Provide backup recovery solutions and develop policies for computing resource use.
6. Interact with users to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
7. Utilize scripting languages to automate tasks and manipulate data efficiently.
8. Configure and optimize Splunk environments to support operational needs.
9. Support enterprise logging practices including application, OS, and security technology logs.
10. Manage infrastructure, system administration, and security tools across Windows and UNIX platforms.

Qualifications:

1. Active Secret Clearance Required
2. Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma with an additional 4 years of specific job experience.
3. Experience with both Linux and Windows environments.
4. Strong background in Splunk administration, configuration, and optimization.
5. Expertise in scripting languages for task automation and data manipulation.
6. Understanding of architecture and troubleshooting of complex data queries.
7. Knowledge of enterprise logging, network security, system security, and SIEM support.
8. Familiarity with infrastructure management and system administration in both Windows and UNIX environments.
9. Hands-on experience with security tools including Firewalls, IDS, and Active Directory.
10. Splunk Administrator Certification required

Position Details:

• No Travel Required
• Hybrid Schedule: In Office Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Primary work location outside the yard gates
• Building equipped with elevators
• Yardwide access not required
