General Responsibilities
This is the supervisory level of the Plumbing & Pipefitting Shop trades series. Plans, coordinates, and supervises the maintenance activities of assigned skilled trades personnel and contractors. Directs the assignments of level I - (trades helpers), level II, and level III maintenance trades employees in the appropriate class series; provides technical advice and production assistance when necessary and inspects all major projects. Develops and refines the work routine of assigned personnel and carries assignments through to completion; does related work as required or assigned. Assignment is plumbing, and pipefitting related skilled trades maintenance work.
Work is performed under direction of the Senior Coordinator of Trades. Incumbents are responsible for the efficient, timely, and economical accomplishment of work assigned to level I, level II and level III trades personnel, and contractors.
Education and Experience
Completion of high school, including or supplemented by completion of appropriate apprenticeship training and considerably and progressively more responsible experience in the appropriate trade, some of which will have been in a level III - (lead) capacity or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above noted knowledge, skill, and ability.
License/Certification
Possession of an appropriate, valid automotive vehicle operator's license and/or the appropriate, valid certifications or licenses required for the related level III classifications supervised. A Masters level License is required to oversee the plumbing trade. Backflow prevention tester license. Master Gas Fitter License. Virginia Natural Gas 2psi gas certificate
