Position Purpose
Performs difficult professional work appraising and meeting the sociological needs of individual students and determining disabilities; coordinates attendance and other student services; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Chief of Administrative Services (Student Services Department). The primary responsibilities of the school social worker involve helping students to address problems or issues that may interfere with learning and competence, such as truancy, learning difficulties, home and community challenges, mental health issues, rebelliousness, social withdrawal, substance abuse, bullying, etc.
