About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement to lead and enhance its fundraising efforts in support of the strategic plan and a culture of care. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising plans, with a focus on student success programs, athletics, performing arts, faculty innovation, and capital expansion projects. This pivotal role involves serving as the primary liaison to the Foundation, ensuring alignment with college priorities, and proactively identifying and pursuing grant opportunities. The AVP will also be tasked with managing a philanthropic pipeline, representing the college at public events, and securing substantial contributions from a targeted portfolio of prospects and donors.
Applicants must have a Masters degree or higher in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years' leadership experience in higher education or nonprofit advancement, with a proven track record in fundraising and campaign management. The role requires exceptional skills in articulating institutional vision, strategic priorities, and funding opportunities, as well as expertise in managing foundation operations and strong knowledge of public relations, marketing strategies, and grant-writing processes. The ideal candidate will be adept at financial management, resource planning, and budgeting, and possess superior interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with customer relationship management systems for fundraising and a willingness to travel to cultivate donor relationships are also essential.
