Job Summary – Training for NRC License

The Initial License Trainee (ILT) will undergo comprehensive training, including classroom instruction, simulator practice, and hands-on experience to qualify for a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license. After completing the program, the candidate will be licensed by the NRC to supervise reactor control room operations.

• Complete the Fundamentals Phase, Simulator Certification, and obtain SRO status with a focus on achieving the NRC SRO License.
• Engage in study and field time to gain the skills necessary for licensure.
• Participate in project work, outage assignments, or other duties supporting site operations.

Job Summary

As a Senior Reactor Operator, you will oversee operations at Constellation's Nuclear Power Generating Station, guiding Reactor Operators and Equipment Operators in safe and efficient plant management.

Job Responsibilities

• Authorize maintenance and testing to maintain equipment status.
• Implement Emergency Operating Procedures and direct actions in response to emergencies or abnormal conditions.
• Assess and address internal and external operational issues and requests.
• Oversee special projects as assigned by Operations Management.
• Create, review, and revise related operating procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Conduct procedural reviews for design and license changes and support outages and special projects.
• Review system documentation and provide operability assessments during off-normal conditions.
• Assist in developing refueling procedures and coordinate shutdown operations.
• Direct shift personnel during plant operations, including standing watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and leading the operation of nuclear power systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST).
• Completion of a FLS Leadership Assessment.
• Qualifications must meet one of the following:
• 1 year of Reactor Operator licensing at a comparable facility or 1.5 years at a non-comparable facility.
• 1.5 years or more in a supervisory role equivalent to Reactor Operator at a military reactor.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, physical sciences, or an equivalent field, with over 1.5 years in a qualified non-licensed operator role or supervisory experience in related fields.
