Here at RDA, we are looking for an experienced engineer ready to lead the strategic vision for the Site-Civil engineering division—guiding multiple teams through land development, infrastructure design, permitting, and project delivery. You'll ensure timely, cost-effective, technically sound solutions that align with evolving local standards and client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage site-civil engineering team
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team
Oversee planning, permitting, design, and execution of site, subdivision, and infrastructure projects.
Provide quality control and strategize responses to development plan comments.
Drive business development efforts by nurturing relationships with new and existing clients (public and private).
Lead proposal development and position the firm for market expansion across Virginia Beach and beyond.
Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration across design review and permitting phases.
Review and approve technical deliverables, requests for information, and change orders.
Ensure project accuracy, budget adherence, schedule compliance, and alignment with local regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain quality control processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Minimum of 10 years in civil/site development, permitting, and infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills – able to articulate detailed engineering concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Business development acumen, including proposal writing and client management.
Knowledge of Virginia's permitting landscape, site development standards, and municipal jurisdictions is preferred.
