Location: Norfolk, VA (Hybrid/Remote)

Position Summary: This position drives efficient accounting operations through the use of QuickBooks Online, BILL.com, and other cloud-based platforms. Core responsibilities include managing multi-entity bookkeeping/transactional accounting, reconciliations, and reporting in a modern, paperless, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial activities including, but not limited to invoice payments, cash receipts, mortgage payments, based on bank and credit card activity
  • Bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Maintain general ledger on a regularly scheduled basis for multiple entities and individuals
  • Track and review cash and investment account activity daily or as needed basis for multiple entities and individuals
  • Processing of vendor bills received for payment
  • Provide and present monthly reconciliations and financial recaps to controller
  • Coordinate collection of documents and preparation of schedules for annual tax return preparation for all entities and individuals
  • Assist controllers with administrative and basic accounting duties
  • Responsible for other duties as requested

Qualifications / Skills and Experience / Personal Attributes:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required; bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
  • Proficiency with core accounting and productivity platforms, including Microsoft Office 365, QuickBooks® Online, BILL.com, and LiveFlow
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver accurate results with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a client-centric approach
  • Team player with a positive, proactive "can-do" attitude
  • Dedicated home office environment, including a separate, distraction-free work area
  • Ideally able to work in-office in Norfolk, VA, during the first month of employment for training and team integration, with the role transitioning to fully remote thereafter
