Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.We are currently recruiting for a Clinician III within our Mobile Crisis program. This position works with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder providing individuals within the community with access to needed services and supports necessary to meeting basic needs. Job Duties Job ResponsibilitiesProvide rapid response to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis in an environment where they are most comfortable to facilitate service engagement, stabilization and resolution of the crisis when possible, including community locations such as schools, private residences, places of employment or education, and other community settings.Conduct assessments to determine the individual's appropriateness for services; risk of harm; functional status; medical, addictive and psychiatric co-morbidity, recovery environment; treatment and recovery history; and ability and willingness to engage. Transition individuals from Mobile Crisis Response to an appropriate level of care including care coordination and communication with the individual's Managed Care Organization, service providers or other collateral contacts. Maintain contact with the Region 5 Northern Hub. Provide linkage and referrals to ongoing services, supports and resources and engaging in peer/natural and family supportsAssist individuals with crisis resolution and general problem-solving. Develop effective, person-centered treatment plans to maintain safety in collaboration with individual and other crisis staff, including safety plans and crisis ISPs. Monitor the plan to ensure all needed services are provided as stated in plan, and change plan as needed. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule Hours may vary based on program needs.We are recruiting for a Full-Time position.The hours for this position include days, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays based on program needs. Qualifications (EEO)Skills and QualificationsKnowledge, skills and abilities in the assessment, evaluation and diagnosis of persons with mental illness, mental retardation and substance use disorders, including risk determination - danger to self or others, inability to care for self due to mental illness, imminent risk. Ability to facilitate clinically appropriate response to persons in acute behavioral health crisis situations - assessment, Short Term Crisis Counseling, hospitalization, triage and referral, or other dispositions. Knowledge and understanding of Discharge Protocols and the procedures for Continuity of Care between the CSB's and State and private psychiatric facilitate, associated CBH policies and procedures, and Emergency Services procedures. One year of clinical experience with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder required. Valid driver's license is required. Master's Degree in a human services field required Resident in Counseling, Resident in Marriage & Family, Licensed Eligible required . DBHDS Preadmission Screening Certificate preferred.
