You will serve as an Electrician Leader in the Production Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
Help
- You will serve as a working leader over at least three trades and crafts employees.
- You will follow schematics to install or hook up electrical equipment on multiphase circuits.
- You will arrange or install electrical devices (e.g., gauges, wire, conduit, couplings, fittings, relays, boxes, circuit breakers) in compliance with safe operation of electrical systems and equipment.
- You will test electrical systems and components to determine the need for repairs and preventative maintenance.
- You will operate power tools (e.g., pipe benders, cutters, power drills) to cut, bend, fit, and thread components of electrical equipment and systems.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You may require special certifications or licenses if assigned work requires special certification or licensing to perform the work or to use specialized tools or equipment.
- You may be required to obtain and maintain current licenses to operate Fork Lift, High Lift (JLG), Bucket Truck and/or construction equipment.
- You may be required to become CPR certified.
Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE by 1) Installing of a variety of electrical systems; 2) Working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and/or engineering drawing to lay out the placement of electrical lines, circuits, and controls; 3) Using a variety of test equipment, e.g., meggers, multimeters, frequency meters, watt meters, power factor meters, vibro-grounds, phase rotation meters, to perform the job; AND 4) Conducting tests on electrical systems to determine repairs needed.
