This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HIIs Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.

Develops and researches new concepts, processes, or technology.

Collects relevant information and data, analyzes it, performs tests, and creates optimal solutions that meet the needs of the mission.

Works with emerging technologies to deploy to new and existing systems.

Participates in full research and development lifecycle.

Collaborates with Weapon Systems Engineers to develop and maintain weapon systems (e.g., Minuteman III).

Conducts research and writing support on various topics within the scientific and technology community in support of warfighting objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
  • Must possess an active Secretclearance at the time of application

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Strong understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC)

Ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose effective solutions

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with DoD systems and acquisition lifecycle
  • Proficiency with systems modeling or simulation tools
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
