Job Summary:
The WTG QI at PMT will report to the Client CVOW Quality Manager. The QI's main responsibilities include overseeing the Quality Assurance for the pre-assembly and load out preparation of Wind Turbine Generator components, overseeing strict adherence to approved work instructions and thorough equipment and tooling inspections. The successful candidate will need to work flexible 10-hour shifts, 5 days per week, with some weekend work as needed because the WTG contractor work schedule is 12 hour shifts, 7 days per week.
Conduct inspections on blades, tower sections, and nacelles per the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Perform goods receival, pre-assembly, in-process, mechanical/electrical, and final walkdowns.
Identify non-conformities, document NCRs, and verify corrective actions.
Ensure traceability of damages/repairs and maintain quality documentation.
Review and comment on completed inspection checklists and 'As Built' packages submitted by the WTG Supplier in close liaison with the WTG Package Manager and CVOW Quality Manager.
2. Coordination & Scheduling
Coordinate daily and weekly inspection activities with contractor teams and site managers at PMT.
Adjust inspection schedules to align with project timelines and unexpected changes.
3. Punch List & Issue Management
Track and manage punch list items and ensure timely rectification.
Document issue resolution and ensure closure before project milestones.
Collaborate with Owner Offshore Client Representatives (OCRs) and Commissioning team to ensure visibility of punch list items and NCRs that are handed over to the offshore phase.
4. Component Readiness & Load-Out
Verify component readiness and compliance before load-out from PMT.
Collaborate with logistics and site teams to prevent delays.
Review defects and ensure they are logged by the WTG supplier.
5. Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Promote a positive quality culture and contribute to lessons learned.
Participate in audits and ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and internal standards.
Champion safety, transparency, and quality control in daily meetings, reinforcing that deviations to procedures are prohibited unless approved by Management of Change (MOC), and all damage or nonconformities must be identified and recorded.
Qualifications & Skills
Technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering (degree or equivalent experience).
5+ years in quality assurance/engineering, preferably in wind, offshore, oil & gas, or nuclear sectors.
Experience with ExWorks inspections, blade inspections, and quality tool management.
Strong documentation, reporting, and Client management skills.
Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, NDT, and coatings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and industrial software.
Demonstrated proficiency in safety protocols and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
