We are currently hiring for Excavator Operators for large-scale infrastructure projects in Newport News, VA.The idealexcavator operator candidate has 5+ years experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment in construction settings, particularly in trenching, utility installation, and pipelaying projects. Pay is $27 - $32 based on skill set and experience.

Excavator Operator Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators and heavy equipment safely and efficiently for excavation, trenching, and site prep
• Perform trenching for water, sewer, and utility lines, ensuring precise depth and alignment (trenching experience at 10+ feet deep required)
• Assist with installation and repair of water, sewer, and utility lines, including digging, backfilling, and compaction
• Lay pipes and utility lines in accordance with blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications
• Conduct site grading and leveling to prepare for utility installation
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and utility plans
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects accurately and on time

• 5+ years heavy equipment operating experience, specifically excavators
• Valid driver's license
• Willing to work outside in all types of weather
