As a Mechanical Estimator, you will analyze project plans, specifications, and conditions to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing projects. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project goals. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project drawings, specs, and requirements to define scope and pricing strategy
Conduct site visits to verify project conditions and constraints
Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead
Develop complete bid proposals and cost breakdowns
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to secure competitive pricing
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and trade partners
Identify potential cost risks and propose mitigation strategies
Work cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, and architects to refine estimates
Ensure estimates are accurate, timely, and competitive within the market
