Description:

TeleSolv Consulting has a great opportunity for you to work with the Federal Government as a Property Management Specialist II enabling you to have a Tier 1 Public Trust.


This is an ONSITE position based in Portsmouth, VA.


Duties / Responsibilities

The Property Management Specialist II will be responsible for supporting the tasks below:


  • Review Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Documents for items being sent to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services.
  • Prepare turn-in documents and schedule DLA turn-in appointments for equipment located outside of the Hampton Roads area.
  • Accompany the excess equipment to local DLA sites utilizing government-owned vehicles.
  • File turn-in documentation in the appropriate folder upon return from local DLA sites.
  • Serve as the Property Administrator (PA). Track property under the correct Operational Facility and Property Custodian codes.
  • Send an updated inventory list to the applicable Property Custodian (PC) for signature and verification. Update the property records as changes occur.
  • Initiate transfer and receipt of property items being transferred. Maintain all documentation for three (3) years plus the current year.
  • Notify the Accountable Property Officer (APO) of any changes not reported by the custodian within 10 business days after changes were made.
  • Retire items, using asset serial numbers and FSMS tag numbers.
  • Provide completed Property Action Forms to the APO for review and signature before filing.
  • Provide monthly reports to APO of all documents used to adjust property asset records.
  • Review count sheets to ensure all the count sheets are accounted for and all selected items have been counted.
  • Compare the count sheet to the stock record on-hand quantities noted in the Fleet Logistics System (FLS). Reconcile items to stock records.
  • Generate the physical inventory report with all supporting documentation.
  • Schedule inventories for the custodians that have property in FSMS.
  • Track the completed inventories and report monthly to the APO. Submit all completed inventories to the designated PA.
  • Schedule monthly component-level inventories and report errors to the APO.
  • Assist the Physical Inventory Control Officer in standing up new FLS inventory locations as required.
  • Conduct monthly spot checks on FLS inventories and report all inventory discrepancies in writing after every monthly spot check.
  • Initiate and submit Property Action Form packages to the APO.
  • Assist with verifying the accuracy of Report of Excess Property forms before the APO receives the file.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing the DLA staging area located in the excess storage facility.
  • File the turn-in documentation in the appropriate folder.
  • Submit a weekly report, to include all tasks completed in the week.
  • Submit a monthly report, to include all tasks completed in the month.


Minimum Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Public Trust clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one
  • High School Diploma or Associate's degree
  • Must have a valid driver's license and pass a Motor Vehicle check in the background screen
  • Five (5) years of proficiency in MS applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of data
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to periodically push and pull carts or pallets weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to periodically stand and bend for extended periods


Preferred Requirements

  • Five (5) years of property administration and IT inventory management experience


Background Investigation:


This position requires that you obtain a Public Trust Tier 1(Background Investigation) Suitability Assessment from our client. As part of this process, the government will perform a criminal, credit, tax, employment, and drug history background check. The government has varying tolerances, with mitigating circumstances, for issues in all of the categories. The government is essentially looking to confirm that you are generally in good financial standing, up to date on your tax filings, rehire eligible with your prior employers, and have adhered to any federal restrictions on illegal drug use, including marijuana, in addition to other checks related on your character and trust worthiness.
