Systems Engineer Sr
Senior-Level | $100,000–$140,000 | Newport News, VA | U.S. Citizenship Required – Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI Preferred) Lead the modernization of Joint Command and Control—bring senior-level systems engineering expertise to sustain and advance GCCS-J, ensuring mission success for joint and multinational operations. A Day in the Life – What You'll Do • Lead the definition, management, and validation of system requirements across multiple GCCS-J baselines
• Serve as a technical advisor to the Government, recommending solutions and integrating enhancements into emerging C2 capabilities
• Guide design concepts, criteria, and engineering approaches for research, development, integration, and test
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across Agile development teams
• Deliver presentations to customers, senior leadership, and stakeholders on program status and technical direction
• Cultivate strong customer relationships and contribute to program growth opportunities
• Manage cross-functional technical efforts, ensuring delivery on cost, schedule, and technical requirements Focus Areas • Requirements leadership and system integration
• Technical leadership in Agile system lifecycle execution
• Expertise in C2 systems, GCCS-J, and defense technology environments Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related technical field
• 8+ years of systems engineering or related technical experience
• Proven success in leading technical teams, projects, or integrated program teams
• Strong experience in requirements solicitation, development, and lifecycle management
• Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
• U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications • Advanced expertise in MBSE and modeling tools (Cameo, DoDAF)
• Deep knowledge of C2 systems (e.g., GCCS-J) and DoD acquisition organizations
• Experience managing system integration across Windows/Linux environments
• Familiarity with virtualization, VMWare, configuration/data management, and database design
