A Day in the Life – What You'll Do • Support sustainment and modernization of the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J), the DoD's C2 system of record
• Design and deploy orchestrated operational environments to enhance resiliency, scalability, and efficiency of joint warfighter systems
• Install, configure, patch, and secure Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and compliance with DoD requirements
• Develop, optimize, and maintain Ansible plays and playbooks to automate system provisioning and configuration management
• Perform Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and debugging in mission-critical environments
• Collaborate across geographically distributed teams, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of infrastructure solutions
• Lead technical investigations, advise the Government on infrastructure modernization, and integrate enhancements into new baselines
• Follow Agile development practices and contribute to the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and sustainment Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM or related technical field Experience:
• Mid-Level (II–III): 3–5+ years of professional software development experience
• Senior-Level (IV–V): 5–10+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Kubernetes installation, configuration, and patching
• Advanced proficiency with Ansible for automation (plays and playbooks)
• Strong Linux system administration and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a final Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Docker and virtual machine environments
• Proficiency with OCI containerized application development
• Experience hardening/locking down Kubernetes and understanding of GitOps practices
• Familiarity with build ecosystems (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm)
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with C2 systems, DoD STIGs, secure coding standards, SonarQube, Fortify
• Knowledge of networking, performance testing, and debugging techniques
• Experience with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Ability to apply mathematical/statistical concepts to algorithms
• Background in military intelligence, imagery, or strategic planning
