The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the overall strategy, leadership, and operational performance of the IT department at Rivers Casino Portsmouth. This includes oversight of infrastructure, AV technology, systems administration, cybersecurity, and service delivery. The Director will lead a team consisting of the IT Manager, AV Manager, and Systems Engineer, ensuring seamless technology integration and continuous improvement in support of property-wide operations.

The role involves high-level planning, budgeting, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration, while maintaining compliance with internal controls, regulatory guidelines, and Rivers Casino Portsmouth's policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises: IT Manager, AV Manager, and Systems Engineer
  • Provides coaching, leadership development, and performance management for direct reports and their teams
  • Oversees departmental staffing, training, and succession planning

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategic IT roadmap aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of all technology systems, including AV, infrastructure, servers, and network security.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support technology needs for gaming operations, food & beverage, security, marketing, and guest experience.
  • Provide executive-level leadership in incident response, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity governance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain compliance with gaming regulations, information security policies, and internal controls.
  • Oversee asset management, IT inventory control, and lifecycle planning for hardware/software.
  • Lead IT and AV integration projects, including new deployments, upgrades, and innovation initiatives.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues and guide resolution strategies.
  • Promote a culture of exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to internal training requirements, attendance expectations, and corporate policies.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams
  • Strong background in enterprise networking, server administration, AV systems, and cybersecurity
  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP
  • Experience working in 24/7 operational environments; previous casino experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Server OS, VMware, Cisco equipment, Backup systems, and Linux
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, AV system design, and fiber optic wiring is a plus

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
