Job Details

The Cafe' Worker prepares, displays and provides quality food and service for the public. The Museum Caf features a delectable array of sandwiches, chili, salads, and soups (vegetarian options also available) as well as teas, coffee, tavern beers, and wine. Before heading to another exhibit, grab a quick cookie, muffin, or croissant.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares, displays and provides quality food and service for the public
• Ensures that health, safety, security, and sanitation standards meet guidelines set by Colonial Williamsburg
• Receives food and supplies
• Cleans restaurant and cafe areas including bussing tables, mopping floors and washing some dishes and utensils

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be 18 years of age according to Virginia Code 4.1-307
• Must be available for morning shifts on weekdays, weekends, Sundays, holidays; the hours would be between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
• Experience in food preparation
• Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County food handler's card; applicants with an active food handler's card should be prepared to present it during the interview process
• NOTE: In accordance with Virginia A.B.C. § 4.1-225 Colonial Williamsburg prohibits employment of anyone in an alcohol serving position who has been convicted of a felony, any crime involving moral turpitude (lying, cheating, or stealing), or a drug-related offense within the past five (5) years.
• Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: (1) transporting up to 50 pounds; (2) standing, stooping, bending; (3) working while standing for long periods of time
