Our company is looking for an Electrical Construction Manager for infrastructure projects in the USA. The assignment is on-site. We prefer a local candidate. Full proficiency in English is required.

Position Title: Construction Manager

Hierarchical Dependence: Project Manager

Functional Dependence: Construction

Location: Norfolk, Virginia

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Project Director, the Construction Manager will plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate construction activities. The project involves relocating power lines, including MV and LV, across various infrastructures in operation.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
2. Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
3. Develop construction schedules and milestones, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines.
4. Prepare contracts, negotiate revisions, and manage contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
5. Develop and implement quality control programs.
6. Represent the company in business services and union contract negotiations.
7. Prepare progress reports and communicate schedules to clients.
8. Oversee the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions.
9. Hire and supervise subcontractors and subordinate staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent technical, organizational, managerial, and planning skills.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Previous experience in electrical utilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Related experience; large projects ($300M+) are a plus.
• At least 15 years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Engineer on large projects, including at least 5 years as a Construction Manager or equivalent.
• Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science.
• Ability to work in challenging environments.
