ATCS is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our team as a Senior Roadway Engineer or Roadway Engineering Project Manager. This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in one of our ATCS offices. We are considering candidates based out of Hampton Roads (VA), Virginia Beach or Glen Allen (VA).

This is an exciting opportunity to support and shape our roadway design services group in Virginia. This individual will perform a variety of engineering tasks related to VDOT and municipal roadway design projects. The role requires a flexible mindset and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude with increasing design and management capabilities.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Design roadway plans, profiles, typical sections, and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Manage project tasks, communicate with clients, and ensure quality control.
  • Develop cost estimates and planning reports.
  • Participate in public meetings and prepare related reports.
  • Lead design efforts for roadway infrastructure projects based on AASHTO, VDOT, and local requirements; review designs prepared by others.
  • Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, and government agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in roadway design, preferably in Virginia.
  • Virginia Professional Engineers license preferred; candidates from other states willing to obtain Virginia PE within 6 months.
  • Experience with MicroStation ORD; AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO, VDOT, and regional design standards and practices.

We offer a competitive salary range of $79,200 to $133,650 per year, commensurate with experience.
