Performs manual labor and semi-skilled work in the construction and maintenance of County grounds and facilities. Maintains athletic fields by cutting grass, dragging fields, and lining fields. Serves as a lead worker when needed for new hires and seasonal employees. Operates light machinery and uses hand tools to prune trees, mow lawns, remove snow, etc. Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent and 1-2 years experience in landscape maintenance work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving record mandatory. Certification as a State Category 60 Registered Technician for pesticide application required, or must have the ability to obtain such certification with 6 months of employment. Safety shoes required. Requires an acceptable criminal background check.
