Description

General Summary: Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is looking for a SUBSAFE / LEVEL I experienced Mechanic to perform repairs and restoration work on various types of valves, to include Ball valves. Work is performed in an industrial workshop environment, in an area where workers are exposed to drafts, noise, and temperature variations. Work is performed with equipment where carelessness could result in injury and/or death.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, refurbishment and testing on SUBSAFE and Level 1 valves using test, measurement and diagnostic equipment / tools in accordance with blueprints, technical manuals and technical work instructions to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
  • Performs administrative duties in documenting the performance of all work, inspections and testing (Objective Quality Evidence) using Quality Assurance Forms.
  • Receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass background check.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience repairing and restoring U. S. Naval SUBSAFE and / or Level I valves and actuators.
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience using tools and machinery required to perform valve repair / restoration, to include the following: Outside & Inside Diameter Micrometers' Calipers, Depth & Height Gauges, Pit Gauges, Surface Comparators, Dial Indicators (to include knowledge of run-out measurements).
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and technical manuals; The ability to write routine reports and correspondence; The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Possess a current SECRET Security clearance.

Preferred:
  • Previously Craftsman qualified by a certified Naval Ship Repair Facility.
  • Experience in Epoxy Valve Repair.
