Alexander Rose are partnered with a nationally recognized civil general contractor to source a General Superintendent for major DOT-focused highway and infrastructure projects in Virginia Beach and the surrounding region. Summary/Objective

· An Integral team member who collaborates on the management and execution of a project in a safe and profitable manner.

· Foster and maintain a safe working environment

· Develop and implement project execution strategies

· Maintain and communicate various project performance metrics and analytics

· Provide leadership and support to the functional area managers

· Support forecasting and reporting

· Manage/Work with subcontractors and vendors

· Foster and maintain favorable relationships with project stake holders

· Market and promote the company brand

Supervisory Requirements:

This position will have several direct reports and supervisory requirements.

Work Environment:

Additionally, a pressurized environment is the norm.

Employee will be working on heavy civil construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to navigate rugged terrain, climb substantial heights, and work over and on water.

The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position. This position sometimes requires long hours, holidays and weekend work.

Travel:

The role will require up to 30% of travel.

Required Education and Experience:

· BS Construction, Engineering, or other relevant fields of study

· Minimum 10 years experience

· Field based project execution experience

· Field based leadership roles

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Safety Trained Supervisor Construction Certification
