General Contractor in Newport News, VA is seeking a Concrete Carpenter who is committed to performing and maintaining the quality work standards established by Hampton Roads Contracting, Inc.

Description and Responsibilities:

Perform various tasks as required for General Contractor specializing in industrial construction and renovation. Essential functions include but are not limited to:

• Read and interpret prints, drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Construct wooden or pre-engineered formwork utilizing hand and power tools.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install forms, rebar, embeds, and anchor bolts.
• Install concrete embed falsework.
• Brace forms in place using nails, bolts, anchors, and dimensional lumber.
• Support concrete placement and finishing operations.
• Place and finish flat slabs, walls, and foundations.
• Form and place structural grout.
• Prepare and patch concrete with repair mortars.
• Perform other miscellaneous general construction duties.

Job requirements and qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience in Concrete Construction.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Enthusiastic, professional, and positive attitude.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours.
• Ability to kneel for long periods.
• Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
